Here you will learn about my work, my passion, and how I may serve your growing family!  Since 2002 I have been immersed in the world of birth, studying and traveling and connecting with incredible mentors from all over the world.  My first experience as a birth doula was in Chilon, Chiapas, Mexico, just weeks after my first doula training, 10 years ago.  In a village of people who spoke only their own Mayan dialect Tzeltal,  I was able to assist a young laboring indigenous woman who had come into the rural health clinic on her own.  It was there that I realized the depth of the work of the doula that goes beyond words.  Now after 10 years in the field, much life experience, and the blessing of working closely with many families, I have come to know a very special role in birth of the new family.  It involves caring for women and their partners from the time I meet them and nurturing them as they gradually adapt to their new role as parents.  From the time you hire me, I inspire you with self-care practices for your pregnancy and provide insightful information and guidance that allow for you to walk into labor and new parenthood with ease and curiosity.  I stand by you, hear what you need and walk with you in each moment as it unfolds.  And I have come to see that a "natural" birth or "natural" parenting is really just that which unfolds authentically and naturally for YOU.  I will surely help you in gathering all of the information you need for your journey. You will be given simple and effective techniques for pregnancy, labor, and postpartum that allow for you to fall into your own body wisdom with ease and joy.
