When you choose a labor doula in NYC you know that this doula  is not only going to answer your call and run to support you physically and emotionally during the most transformative time of your life. She'll also doula you while pregnant: sharing resources, holding your hand as you navigate all the information and decision making. She'll be a mirror and a friend, with her physically birth bag open and ready, and her hands and her wisdom there for you as well. Decide on a doula who gets you and what you want for your birth, and your family, who is there for you, and your goals!

I am currently on leave yet referring out to a hand picked group of the loveliest, most professional, dedicated doulas in NYC. Contact me today to get in touch with my veteran colleagues, and even some lower cost options of the most passionate of the newer doulas.

"Because it will not be “just another day” for you when your child is born, do what you can to make your child’s birth a good memory. Choose your doctor or midwife and your place for birth carefully. Those choices will determine to a great extent how you will be treated and how you will remember the birth, and also, possibly, how you will feel about yourself." Penny Simkin

"When Erica arrived, she was so calm and so loving, she gave me a big hug and was all smiles. The energy in the hospital room was instantly transformed with her arrival from "total chaos" to "yeah, my beautiful son is almost here." As Erica says: birth is an emergence, not an emergency. I wasn't sure how to do what, when. Erica was nestled up cozily right by my ear, holding my hand and was calmly walking me through all that I needed to do, almost like a translator. She helped me breath, through every inhale and exhale along side of me and verbally guided me through relaxing all parts of my body that were not engaged in the contractions. Erica remained completely calm and reassuring that all would be fine and it was. My little boy was born healthy and beautiful after 19 hours of labor. I am so grateful that my husband and I had Erica by our side; she helped bring moments of peace and celebration into my labor. She is knowledgeable and respectful of the process. She is courteous to doctors and nurses and also advocates for the mothers needs and wants. She always remembers the baby and advocates for him/her as well. She is professional and totally invested in her work. She stays in close contact before and after the birth, is there ready and willing for the panicked phone call from the new moms..."help". She has my absolute trust and if my husband and I have a second child, she will be our first call." Camie, NYC

"It may sound strange, but when we first met Erica I was already in labor. It was about an hour after my first contraction when my partner and I arrived at Bumi Sehat (birthing center in Bali) for my baby's delivery and were offered the presence of a doula. I did not know Erica then as I had only been seeing a midwife at the clinic throughout the pregnancy and actually had no idea how beautiful and important the work of the doula is. I was so surprised of her kindness. Erica spent the whole 13hrs during the night right next to me, giving me peace & courage, sharing aromatherapy & massage, and most importantly, LOVE. She also gave my partner assurance so he could have a little rest during my labor and sneak in a little sleep! We were so lucky to have had Erica as our doula. And if we ever have another baby it would be out of the question to not to have her there again." Vicka, Brazil
